Practical student resource

A backup-patient protocol for one supervised clinic chair.

Use this before a required clinic session already has a scheduled patient. It keeps one bounded standby line ready without turning ChairStandby into patient recruitment, screening, or healthcare software.

01

Confirm the program rule

Check your clinic or program policy before inviting anyone. ChairStandby coordinates availability; it does not determine patient eligibility or replace program approval.

02

Create one exact session

Use a public clinic alias, supervised service category, date and time, and a standby cutoff. Do not enter a legal name, contact detail, diagnosis, medication, insurance, symptom, or health history.

03

Confirm the scheduled patient

Share the primary capability link only with the scheduled patient. Keep the student management link private and use the event history to confirm that the primary seat is ready.

04

Build a bounded standby line

Share the standby link only with intended participants. Up to five people can join without accounts; joining is availability, not clinical clearance or an appointment.

05

Activate only after release

If the scheduled patient cancels, record the release and activate the line once. The first waiting participant receives the offer; do not run parallel manual offers.

06

Close the loop

When one standby accepts, every unused position closes automatically. Contact your clinic or program directly for clinical, scheduling, or eligibility decisions.

Keep the clinical boundary outside the tool.

ChairStandby never decides whether someone can receive care, guarantees attendance, schedules treatment, or provides medical advice. The supervised program remains responsible for eligibility, consent, treatment, and every clinical or scheduling decision.

Run the protocol without rebuilding a group chat.

$12/month per student workspace. Scheduled and standby patients join free.
